Customer question: Only one area is defective. Should I replace the modules immediately?

The shape of a local fault is evidence. A complete cabinet may point to its power, receiver, local signal or configuration. A row or column may point to a data path, HUB port, scan parameter, ribbon connection or module power. It is not automatically a module failure. Draw the fault on the cabinet map and record whether it is fixed or intermittent, visible to the eye or only to a camera, present at start-up or after running, and present during pure-colour tests. Inspect the upstream and downstream signal path, receiver status, HUB, ribbon direction and power input. If the fault follows a known-good cable or cabinet after a controlled swap, the location of the cause becomes clearer. Change only one item at a time and record the result. Before replacing a receiver, export its configuration and identify its address. Before touching a ribbon or internal connector, isolate and verify power. After a repair, repeat the original test pattern and compare the fault boundary; “the cabinet lights up” is not enough if the row or colour defect remains.
