A short power-on test can show what an LED cabinet does at one moment. It may reveal an obvious module fault, missing signal, colour problem, or power issue. It may not reveal an intermittent fault that appears after repeated operation, a change that becomes visible as equipment warms, or a behaviour that occurs only when the full assembled batch runs together. Continuous Aging is the fifth Product Quality SOP gate because it gives the prepared batch a longer opportunity to show how it behaves under observation.
The gate begins after the relevant cabinets have passed physical inspection, power-on diagnosis, and any required repair and re-test. The team assembles the batch or the approved test group using a representative configuration and a controlled signal path. The point is not to create a theatrical demonstration. The point is to observe the equipment in a state that can reveal problems before packing and dispatch. The content and setup should follow the approved internal method for the actual product.
Representative content matters. A static colour field may reveal one type of issue, while moving content or a mixed image may reveal another. Colour, brightness, image continuity, signal response, and visible uniformity can be considered according to the approved process. The quality team should use content that is appropriate to the equipment and the purpose of the observation. A public article can describe the categories without claiming that one pattern proves every function.
Timed observations create a record rather than a feeling. At the approved intervals, the team can review visible behaviour, temperature or heat signs, brightness, colour, connections, and any intermittent fault. The record should show what was observed and when. If the company has not approved a universal duration, the public copy must not invent 24 hours, 48 hours, or 72 hours. The actual approved method and actual record should control the statement. A blank or pending duration is more honest than a number that was chosen only to make the page sound complete.
Heat-related observation needs careful wording. A technician may notice that a component or area becomes warmer during operation, but the significance depends on the product, environment, measurement method, and approved limit. The quality record should use the company’s real method. The customer-facing explanation can say that temperature or heat behaviour is observed where relevant. It should not promise a particular thermal threshold unless the company has verified and approved that information.
Continuous observation is also a chance to re-check repaired cabinets. A cabinet that was corrected in Q04 should remain connected to its repair record. If a symptom returns, the team can identify the cabinet and investigate rather than assuming that the whole batch is stable. If the observation remains stable, the record can support the next release decision. The important point is not that every repaired unit is treated as suspicious forever. It is that the repair history is not lost when the cabinet rejoins the assembled batch.
The team should know what happens when an issue appears. If a cabinet shows an intermittent fault, unusual heat, colour change, brightness variation, or signal loss, the observation should be recorded and the approved response applied. The batch may need to stop, the cabinet may need to return to diagnosis, or the test condition may need to be reviewed. A problem found during aging is useful information because it appeared before dispatch. It should not be hidden to protect a release target.
For overseas customers, this gate explains why “it turned on” is not the whole quality story. The customer may be buying a batch for an event where interruption is costly and technical support is far away. A longer, recorded observation gives the team another opportunity to find behaviour that a quick demonstration might miss. It does not create an unlimited guarantee, and it does not replace site-specific installation design. It does make the preparation history more credible.
The record should connect the observation to the batch identity, test setup, content, start and check points, visible results, and any action taken. It should preserve enough context for a reviewer to understand whether the final result refers to the full batch, a representative group, or a cabinet that was separately re-tested. The actual scope should be stated. The phrase “the batch passed” should not be used if only one sample was observed unless the approved method defines that scope.
Continuous Aging also protects the relationship between evidence and dispatch. Packing should begin only after the required quality status is clear. If a duration is still pending, a fault remains open, or a cabinet needs another re-test, the release decision should wait or be labelled according to the approved workflow. The customer-facing team can explain that the batch is still under preparation without making a negative claim about the equipment.
This is a quiet gate, but it is valuable. It replaces a single snapshot with a sequence of observations. It gives intermittent behaviour a chance to appear. It keeps repaired cabinets visible. It provides a factual basis for release. It also reinforces the Stellux principle that evidence should come before confidence.
Q05 produces a power-on record, timed checks, and a final stability result based on the actual approved method. It does not create a universal aging promise. By recording what was observed, when it was observed, and what happened next, Stellux can explain why a prepared batch was allowed to move toward packing without pretending that used equipment has no history.
